Wasatch Peak Academy

2018-2019 Lottery Enrollment

The first Open Enrollment (OE) period will be held from January 3rd, 2018 ‐ February 5th, 2018. Additional OE’s will be held on an as‐needed‐basis after this first OE period.

Students currently attending WPA need not re‐apply to the school through the OE process, but will need to indicate their intent to return to WPA for the 2018-2019 school year beginning in December as well as signing up siblings who want to attend WPA through the OE process. More information will be sent home to parents in December 2017.

A lottery will be held after each OE period ends. Families will be notified via e‐mail of their child’s acceptance into the school through the computerized lottery program. Families selected will be notified of the next steps in the registration process and what timeline they will need to follow.

Please keep in mind if you previously enrolled for the 2017‐2018 school year and your child was not selected through the lottery program, you will need to re‐enroll in the database for the 2018‐2019 school year. Students not chosen through the lottery program will not be “rolled over” to the next school year.

Siblings of current WPA students attending other schools will receive first preference of any openings in the school. Every effort will be made to accept all siblings in an individual family, but this may not be possible due to caps on class sizes.

The first lottery will be held Monday, February 5th, 2017. If there are more students wanting to be in the school than there are positions available, student names from the first Open Enrollment period will be randomly ordered and chosen on that basis. This is referred to as lottery. Additional lotteries will be held on an as-needed-basis later in the spring and throughout the summer months. Families will be notified via e-mail or phone of their child’s acceptance into the school. Families selected will be notified of the next steps in the registration process and what timeline they will need to follow.

The school does not discriminate in its admission policies or practices on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, disability, or any other protected classification.
