Hello Patriots! I am so excited to be starting a new year with you at Wasatch Peak. Let me tell you a bit about myself so we can get to know each other better.
I was raised in Tennessee, Florida and Georgia. I attended a very small (about 500 students) private woman’s college called Agnes Scott College near Atlanta and majored in Spanish. After graduation, I went to Quincy, Florida and worked with Literacy Volunteers of America helping people to learn how to speak, read and write in English. I did some graduate work at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Graphic Arts Publishing before I married my sweetheart and had three beautiful boys.
I love to read and have traveled to Canada, the Dominican Republic and Russia.
I can’t wait to meet you all this year and when I see you in the hall and say, “Buenos dias” or “Good morning,” remember this quote from The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien:
“Good morning!” said Bilbo, and he meant it. The sun was shining, and the grass was very green. But Gandalf looked at him from under long bushy eyebrows that stuck out further than the brim of his shady hat.
“What do you mean?” he said. “Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?”
“All of them at once,” said Bilbo.
